Tasmanian timbers are highly valued versatile materials for many applications.  The photos below show just a few examples of the many uses for which timbers such as Blackwood, Myrtle and Wattle can be used.

Blackwood

Blackwood timber is highly valued for use in furniture and cabinet making, and is the timber of choice for quality furniture items such as tables, side boards, kitchen cupboards and doors.  Blackwood is also an ideal timber for feature flooring.

This entertainment unit from Lifestyle Furniture of Hobart is made from solid Blackwood.

We also supply various timbers for use in making a range of musical instruments.  The cello (left) is made of Blackwood timber supplied by us, and has been played in the London Symphony Orchestra.

The acoustic lap steel guitar (right) made by Daniel Brauchli of Launceston also uses Blackwood in its construction.

Myrtle

Myrtle is another of Tasmania's timbers that is valued for a range of uses.  It can be used for furniture such as this dining room table, and also makes a beautiful timber for feature flooring.

Wattle

The sideboard shown in this photo is made of Black Wattle.  This timber appears very much like Blackwood and can be used for furniture and kitchen unit cupboard doors.
